Some music that blends electronic/digital characteristics with acoustic elements (whether performed/recorded or sampled) in interesting ways. It's a pretty good cross-section of the stuff I've been listening to at work, as of late.
Indecisively teetering between drawing and painting...
Update: Brian convinced me that I'm too scared to do anything else to this, and that that's not a good reason to call a painting "finished". I'm trying other stuff out, so it'll probably be a bit before I jump back on this.
A simple audio/visual comparison/juxtaposition to reveal a connection. Top: Frou Frou's "The Dumbing Down of Love" Bottom: Bjork's "Unravel" (Click to listen individually)
Besides subtle volume adjustments, both tracks are completely unedited. I'm playing them simultaneously to highlight their similarities: -same key -share the exact same chord progression -similar mood -very similar overall structure (verse/chorus/solo/etc.) -both exactly 52bpm! They line up beat-for-beat! -both apparently co-written by Guy Sigsworth...
I really can't see this as a coincidence, but I don't even think of it as copying/plagiarism - they're both well-written songs by the same person (at least in part).
Beats and measures are numbered at the top, and song sections are labeled.
All credit obviously goes to the respective artists. I'm just here to illustrate a point.
